The Vineyard
We are genuinely concerned for our environment and our vineyard practices are designed to have minimum impact whilst also ensuring the sustainability of our crops. The vineyard site has a small layer of topsoil over-lying 25 metres of alluvial gravels. This with Martinborough’s great climate, high winds, low rainfall, intimidating spring frosts and long dry warm Autumns, combine to produce accountant-shakingly low volumes of high quality fruit. The first vines were planted in 1996 and we finished planting in 2002. This gives us 12 acres of Pinot Noir with a mixture of clones, and 1 acre of Riesling.
